Mental Chunks

So, I realized one major thing today that makes me dislike my job, A LOT, among other things. I can’t concentrate because it’s so effing noisy all the time. I just manage to slip into the zone, and BANG! someone drops a piece of metal in the shop, or THUNK THUNK THUNK goes the guillotine in the plant. Or BLAH BLAH BLAH go the work-tards in the office around my cube-space.

It’s total bawls, and I’m not even a programmer. I don’t understand how anyone gets any sort of cerebrally involved work done with this kind of noise ALL DAY/EVERY DAY.

And the kicker is that I’m going to be asked to stay. And by that I mean ‘come back’ after I leave across the country for 2 or 3 months. Even though I’ve given my resignation with a generous lead time of one month. They seem to value me more than they should, and will get a temp in my absence. Most likely with a raise, if not they’re stupid to think I’ll return to my currently underpaid position without monetary incentive.

Should I stay or should I go? (The Clash)
